2023 Matthew Tucker #8 (AUST)

This instrument is a new larger model for me, commissioned by Rohan Dasika and drawn loosely from a bass made by 19th century hungarian maker Nandor Bruckner.

The instrument is made almost entirely from Tasmanian tonewoods; the top is three pieces of very rare slow-grown high-altitude King Billy Pine, and the scroll, back and sides are made from ancient and fragrant Huon Pine which only grows in the valleys of Tasmania's wild south west. Trim is hard She-oak, and the art-nouveau inspired inlays are Australian Red Cedar. Fingerboard is rock-hard Solomon island ebony, and the tailpiece is Blackwood, again from Tasmania.

;Responsive Bracing System, Lamarre bass bar, adjustable neck. D extension.
