Martin Stanley (Australia)
This orchestral instrument is a big one, but extremely responsive and a joy to play. The low strings speak quickly and easily, producing a rich and complex voice that shakes the floor very nicely indeed. It has a sitka spruce top and flamed black walnut back and sides, with a striking dark walnut dart in the back. Scroll is mahogany.
Internally, the back is braced with the Responsive Bracing System.
String length is 41.5" (1054mm)
D Neck
The generous 7/8 model was designed by US luthier Joey Naeger. FF holes and scroll are the maker's own design. Martin built this bass under the guidance of Matthew Tucker at Bresque Basses in Sydney, where it is currently on display.
